Rush seated chairs bring a sense of the rustic into the home and compliments the country-influenced design of the ladderback and bobbin chair.
The design pattern of a rush seat varies very little but resembles four triangles meeting in the centre. These patterns are found in framed fixed chairs or drop-in seats.
Rush seats became fashionable again with the Arts and Crafts movement in the last years of the 19th century and the early years of the 20th century.
